Privacy

Hermes Boston is a privately operated personal-assistant installation maintained by Johnny Everson. It is for the owner's use, with no public account registration. This page describes this installation, not the Hermes software project as a whole.

Google account access

With the owner's authorization, Hermes can access Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Contacts, and Tasks. Its permissions support reading and organizing email, sending messages, managing calendar events and tasks, working with files and documents, and reading contacts. Data is accessed to carry out the owner's assistant workflows.

Processing and storage

OAuth credentials are stored on the privately managed host with restricted file permissions. Relevant information may be retained in local conversation history, operational logs, and personal notes so the assistant can maintain context. Information needed for a workflow may also be processed by the AI providers and integrations configured by the owner; their handling of that information is governed by their terms and the owner's account settings.

Google account data is not published on this website, sold, or used for advertising. Access and use of Google user data are limited to the personal-assistant functions described here and are subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Control and deletion

The owner can revoke Hermes's Google authorization through Google Account connections at any time. Revocation stops future authorized API access; it does not automatically erase copies already retained in conversation history, logs, or notes. The owner can remove those copies from the host and its backups as appropriate.

This website

The landing and privacy pages use no analytics scripts or tracking cookies. Requests pass through Tailscale's HTTPS service and nginx. Basic web-server logs may record request details for operation and troubleshooting.
